Ever since Shahid Kapoor broke a million hearts and tied the knot with Delhi-based young Mira Rajput, the star wife has been under the limelight constantly. The fact that she belongs to a non-Bollywood background to embracing motherhood at a young age, Mira has been all over the news from the time she became Mrs. Shahid Kapoor.
While her fashion statements were already the talk of the town, her presence on Koffee With Karan Season 10 caught many eyeballs.
Recently, she spoke at a gathering on the occasion of International Women’s Day and her statements about feminism, motherhood and being a homemaker have created quite a stir on social media.
Talking about feminism, Mira said,
“Feminism isn’t about man versus woman. It’s about equality. There’s a new wave of feminism that’s come which is about aggression, I feel it’s destructive.”
With so many ambitious women who want to be ahead of the men, there’s Mira Rajput, proud of the fact that she’s a homemaker.
Talking about being a proud homemaker, she said,
“I am a homemaker and I wear this label with pride. I had a tough pregnancy and I went through those difficult five months to bring my daughter into this world. And now I want to spend every moment I can with her. There is a set of responsibilities that are on my plate and I feel at my age I have a lot more energy. My future is ahead of me.
I can finish all my responsibilities and then I will have nothing in my way. I can raise my daughter, be a good wife, and set up my home the way I like. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I wouldn’t want to spend one hour a day with my child and then rush off to work. Why did I have her then? She is not a puppy. I want to be there for her as a mother. Seeing her grow up can not be quantified.”
While Mira proudly ranted about being a caring mom to Misha, her statements caused a blast on Twitter platform. While some praised her, other slammed her for making “puppy” remark and her views on “feminism”. There were also a few jokes making rounds of social media on Mira Rajput’s latest statements. Here have a look;
Mira supporters –
#MiraRajput hasn’t uttered a single bad word for working women, because those hardworking moms have no choice than working for their family.

#MiraRajput should be applauded for her honest comments on being a homemaker. New age aggressive feminism is picking up only on puppy though
— Archana K B (@archonline) March 10, 2017
Totally agree with #MiraRajput. Feminism is also about choice and one must respect that.

If a woman chooses her career over marriage, it is empowerment. If she chooses motherhood over career, that’s also empowerment. #MiraRajput

People offended by her “working mother” diss –
Dear Mira Rajput Kapoor, please wear your homemaker label with pride but don’t deride women who go out to work. https://t.co/Cdw9GxSQbQ

Also Mrs Mira Rajput Kapoor, raising pets is as big a responsibility as raising a child. So don’t talk down to pet parents.
— Harneet Singh (@Harneetsin) March 10, 2017
Being a #SAHM / Working Mom is a personal choice.
But indirectly comparing babies w/ career mums as puppies is very distasteful

Dear #MiraRajput some do not have the luxury or privilege like you do and their kids turn out just fine. Don’t judge their motherhood pls
— Monica 🏹🎯🥇 🏆 #MainKarSaktiHai (@jasuja) March 10, 2017
#MiraRajput‘s understanding of feminism is flawed. Feminism is not being a male basher. It is having the privilege of choice.
— Rashi Kakkar (@rashi_kakkar) March 10, 2017
#MiraRajput tried too hard to justify her own life by degrading working #women & comparing their kids to puppies. #Immature #bollywood tales
— Nalini Dutta (@NaliniDutta) March 10, 2017
#MiraRajputkapoor What she spoke in her interview was completely arrogant and ignorant.. learn to respect others @MiraRajput pic.twitter.com/P9xPqDkk6E

Did Mira Kapoor diss pet parents ? WTF ?
— Kancha Cheena (@annebelle_123) March 10, 2017
See this is what happens when you leave your education midway to marry a Bollywood celeb. Congrats gal 👏👏 #MiraRajput
— Kancha Cheena (@annebelle_123) March 10, 2017
#MiraRajput. Bringing down the feminist movement, and the world’s IQ, one stupid sentence at a time.

The witty masters and their sly digs at Mira –
Stay at home moms are great. Stay at home moms who flaunt their privilege and imply working moms treat their children like puppies are not.
— Shilpa Rathnam (@shilparathnam) March 10, 2017
Mira Rajput said, “my child is not a puppy”.
I don’t know if puppies are insulted or babies.

Can understand why #MiraRajput – Kapoor is getting so much hate. After all she called out typical hypocritical feminazis.🙌

Well, Mira has spoken her heart out. Twitterati has spoken their heart out.
