Amidst all the hype he has earned so far, the Mumbai Police on Thursday issued a challan to Varun Dhawan for taking a selfie with a fan from his car and warned him to avoid such antics in future. The actor has apologized.
The official Twitter handle of Mumbai Police shared snapshots of a newspaper article featuring Varun pulling off the selfie stunt on the road. The actor is seen partly out of his car’s window and taking a selfie with a female fan who is seen traveling in an auto rickshaw.
In the tweet, they wrote, “Varun Dhawan these adventures surely work on the silver screen, but certainly not on the roads of Mumbai. You have risked your life, your admirer’s and few others. We expect better from a responsible Mumbaikar and youth icon like you! An e-challan is on the way to your home. Next time, we will be harsher.”

Now that it has become a popular opinion that Mumbai Police Twitter handle is a hub for mixing up its messages with humor, cinema and trending references. From Game of Thrones to Superman, they have used it all in the past. Ever since its Twitter debut in December 2015, Mumbai Police Twitter handle has been consistently using trendy memes, GIFS, and witty one-liners to get their message across to a new generation.
However, let us simply hope that Varun won’t get indulged in such messy errors once again.
