Phantom Movie Complete Review:

The film starts with a narration and presentation of footage, pictures and other clippings from the 26/11 attacks in 2008. The very crux of the film is made clear with this crisp, to-the-point beginning. Soon we are taken into 2015, where certain authorities decide to seek justice for the 2008 disaster, and hire a ‘paagal aadmi’ for their mission. Jude aka Daniyal Khan, (Saif Ali Khan) an army officer is seen killing a man and getting arrested by the police since he had left behind his team causing them to be dead.

Fast forwarding to the present scenario, when years later, RAW decides to arrest all the people responsible for the attacks. They approach Jude to help them in this mission and in return promise to clear his bad reputation and get a good name in the Indian army.

Nawaz Mistry (Katrina Kaif) plays the role of a former RAW agent who is now a counsellor and supplies arms to refugee camps. She helps Jude in his mission and identify all the culprits behind the attacks.

Star Performances:

As far as performances are concerned Saif Ali Khan plays the revengeful (almost spiteful)  agent with tremendous intensity. Katrina may not match up to his acting skills but delivers a fine performance. Mohammad Zeeyshan Ayub scorches the screen with his screen presence and his stellar performance.

Phantom Movie Plus Points:

  • Thrilling Action
  • Fast paced Story line
  • Saif Ali Khan’s performance
  • Cinematography
  • Twists in the plot
  • Kabir Khan’s direction
  • Background score

Phantom Movie Minus Points:

  • Some over the top action sequences
  • Over Dramatic Climax
  • Katrina Kaif performance is average

Phantom Movie All India Roundup Rating: 3/5

Verdict: Do not miss this film. Kabir has simply highlighted what most of us feel and would want in reality. A brilliant plot, teamed with thrilling action, Phantom is a must watch.
