Bollywood ‘Badshah’ Shah Rukh Khan, one of Bollywood’s most popular stars, is being awarded an honorary degree at University of Edinburgh on Thursday, 15 October. The King Khan today shared special news with all his fans and followers on his micro-blogging account. Sharing a picture of his newly acquired degree, SRK tweeted,” I am a Doctor all over again…yay!!
Sporting a black tux, looking all dapper, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his joy on receiving the honorary doctorate degree from the University of Edinburgh. He also tweeted, “Her Royal Highness & Prof. Jeffery & Smith & all ur colleagues thank u for the Degree of Doctor Honoris Causa.” It is definitely a proud moment for the actor, the film fraternity and the country. Shah Rukh has also delivered a lecture at the University.

This is not the first time Shah Rukh has been honoured with such respectable honours. The 49-year old actor was awarded one of India’s highest civilian awards, the Padma Shri, in 2005. In 2014, he was also honoured with France’s highest honour – Knight of the Legion of Honour in recognition of his outstanding contribution to cultural diversity across the world. Some of the other film personalities to be conferred the honorary doctorate are Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Sharmila Tagore, and AR Rahman.
The actor is currently in Hyderabad shooting for his upcoming entertainer Dilwale with Varun Dhawan. The Rohit Shetty directorial is slated to release on December 18.
