Shah Rukh Khan Wants Mithali Raj To Coach Indian Men’s Cricket Team, Here’s How She Reacted

Bollywood hero Shah Rukh Khan s definitely the ‘King of Bollywood’, in every sense of a word. Regardless of a number of box office hits and failures, the ageless actor continues to rule heart with uniform intensity. Besides his blockbuster films, Shah Rukh Khan is popularly known for his wit and humor, whether it’s when he’s on stage or just on any other regular day.

He just weaves magic on screen with his movies and leaves people mesmerized. But other than being one of the greatest actors of our time, he is so charming and witty, that there is no other actor who can match his level of liveliness.

Now, SRK had backed Indian Women’s Cricket Team Skipper Mithali Raj to coach Indian Men’s Team in near future. Mithali, who led India to a historic ICC World Cup final last year, appeared on “TED Talks India Nayi Soch”, a TV show hosted by the actor.

During the interaction, Shah Rukh said, “I want to see you (Mithali Raj) as the coach of the men’s cricket team one day.”

Mithali responded with a smile and said, “I always want to give my best.”

SRK, who is passionate about reading also asked Mithali about her books preferences. Replying to King Khan, Mithali said that reading a book keeps her focused on the field.

“When you are on the field, and everyone is looking up to you and the entire team to bring back the trophy, (then) it is not just about the game. So, it is necessary for us to stay focused… and we all have our own ways to ensure we give our best on the field. I read books to get rid of pressure during a match. It does help me to keep calm and encourage a good performance,” she said.

The 35-year old had achieved a lot and became one of the best women cricketers in the world. Mithali is the only Indian women’s captain to lead the side in two World Cup finals, 2005 and 2017. Mithali became the only batter to go past the 1000-run mark in World Cup games and is currently the leading run-scorer in ODIs in the world.
