Earlier today, we got the news that Sony and Marvel have finally reached an agreement regarding the spider-man franchise. But what’s more amazing is that we are going to see our friendly neighborhood spider-man in the upcoming Venom 2 movie.
The new deal will allow Spider-Man to comeback for a movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Thanks to the new deal, Spider-Man will be seen again in the Venom series.
The last time Spidy made an appearance with Venom was when Tobey was still portraying the character of Spider-Man.
Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel, has teased everyone with a possible crossover in an interview earlier this year.
During an interview with Variety, Kevin said, “I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it.”
He added, “Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”
Amy Pascal, the producer of Tom Holland’s 2 solo Spider-Man movies, was really happy when she found out Spidy was coming back for a third movie.
Amy, who is also going to produce the third Spider-Man movie, said, “This is terrific. Peter Parker’s story took a dramatic turn in Far From Home and I could not be happier we will all be working together as we see where his journey goes.”
Earlier this year, Tony Vinciquerra, the CEO and the Chairman of Sony, said that the door is officially closed on future Spider-Man collaborations with Marvel Studios.
Luckily things went well and the two major companies are collaborating for the fans.
Venom 2 is set to hit the main screens on October 20, 2020, and Spider-Man 3, the first Spider-Man movie to do 3 movies since Tobey Maguire, will be released in 2021.
