TEASER OUT: Akshay Kumar Is Back With Another Edge Of The Seat Thriller In The Teaser Of ‘Airlift’

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s most awaited film ‘Airlift’ teaser is out.  The movie is a grim reminder of the 1990 evacuation of over a lakh Indians from a Kuwait under attack. Akshay Kumar, who is busy with the latest schedules of “Airlift” movie, tweeted the first look of his movie to his fans today i.e.; November 18, 2015. The first look went on to trend nationwide on twitter.

The 2-min 8-second teaser features Akshay Kumar with intense looks and introducing the audience to his character Ranjit Katiyal, a powerful Indian origin businessman based in Kuwait. But then things go terribly wrong for the Indians in Kuwait post Iraq’s invasion of the oil-rich country in August 1990. The film features Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles.

The film is set in the backdrop of the 1990 Gulf war and the movie is based on the true story of the evacuation of Indians from Kuwait in the 90s.

Now back to 1990’s in real life, Indian Government, had entered the Guinness Book of World Records, for rescuing 111,711 stranded Indians by airlifting them back to Mumbai. Indian Airlines flew 488 flights to Kuwait, starting from 13 August to 11 October 1990. The operation lasted for 59 days and successfully rescued every Indian in Kuwait.

The movie is directed by Raja Krishna Menon and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Nikhil Advani, and Aruna Bhatia. Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur starrer “Airlift” movie is scheduled to hit the theaters screens on 22 January, 2016.
