Rekha, the timeless beauty of the Bollywood industry had acted over 180 films with various superstars in the industry. She still has the same grace and aura even at the age of 63. Rekha who aged like fine wine made her Bollywood debut as a lead actress in the movie “Sawan Bhadon” in 1970. During this time Rekha used to star in 5-6movies a year and sometimes she used to act till 8 movies, that was the popularity of this timeless beauty.
Rekha was last seen in the movie “Shamitabh” in 2015 and she has no films in her hands as of now. But have you ever noticed Rekha during her public appearances? She dresses like straight out of dreams and is always seen in Kanjeevaram Sarees that cost a bomb on the pockets. Though there are no films in her hands, Rekha still lives the same extravagant lifestyle as she used to live back in 70’s.
Recently a lot of people wonder how the actress is maintaining her lavish lifestyle despite no active income from films and ads. As per a daily lead, Rekha owns various flats and Bunglaws in South India which gives a handsome amount of rent to her. Apart from that, she gets paid for attending various events and private functions which pay her a good amount of money.
Rekha is a member of Rajya Sabha although she doesn’t attend the same, she receives perks and salaries from the job and in recent times there has been a controversy about Rekha not attending the Rajya Sabha even for a day. She also got a perk for her wardrobe. Rekha doesn’t spend money on her clothing as most of them are gifted by the designers or they are from her old closet.
Though she is an A-lister, she doesn’t believe in spending money on unnecessary things like clothes like other celebrities. Rekha still believes in middle-class values and doesn’t spend her fortune on luxury cars or expensive foreign vacations.
She didn’t change her staff for years and her secretary Farzana can be always seen by her side and she reveals that Rekha is not much of a spender and she believes that “a penny saved is a penny earned.” Maybe this might be the reason behind her lavish life which is still the same even after so many years.
