Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s most awaited film ‘Padmavati’ has been facing criticism from many quarters in the country. Padmavati has been facing constant opposition in the form of violence and threats from members of Rajput Karni Sena ever since they disrupted the shoot of the film in Jaipur earlier this year.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial has been on the radar of Rajput communities, fringe outfits, and political parties, but the period drama has found support in Bollywood. With Padmavati row getting difficult by the day, the latest news suggests a delay in the release of the film. The film will not hit the screens on December 1 anymore.
The release has been deferred until further notice. Bollywood’s silence over the Padmavati controversy during the last few months has been telling. Most of the film industry’s actors and filmmakers have chosen to not comment about the protests and ridiculous demand to ban the film.
Karni Sena also called to cut Deepika Padukone’s nose and behead Sanjay Leela Bhansali was met with a stony silence with only a few members of the industry like Anurag Kashyap, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar choosing to speak out. And this piece of news hasn’t gone down too well with Bollywood who have lashed against the goons who are holding the film hostage through continuous threats.
The latest statement by the Haryana BJP’s chief media coordinator, Suraj Pal Amu, offering Rs 10 crore to the person who beheads Deepika Padukone’s and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has finally evoked a reaction from a few actors. One of the actors is Twinkle Khanna.
The actress-turned-author, known for calling a spade, a spade, took to Twitter and attacked the Haryana BJP Chief Media Coordinator Suraj Pal Amu with a savage tweet. She wrote, ” The nation wants to know-Is this 10 cr beheading fee inclusive of GST?”

Not just this, Twinkle, in another tweet, said that she wished Padmavati to be the biggest hit ever as it would be a befitting rejoinder to the threats by the fringe elements. She also came up with the best solution to teach the protesters a lesson.
She writes on Twitter, “And as far as #Padmavati is concerned I wish it is the biggest hit ever as that would be the befitting rejoinder to all these loony threats!”

Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles, Padmavati has been facing the ire of the fringe groups for almost eight months now. In the past few days, the furor over it has been unprecedented.
Twinkle Khanna has turned producer with Padman which releases on January 26, 2018, which stars her husband Akshay Kumar.
