After days of speculation, it was finally confirmed that the Indian cricket team’s captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma have tied the knot. The couple announced the news with photos from the ceremony.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma got married in beautiful Tuscany, Italy on Monday morning at the grand village resort of Borgo Finocchieto. The wedding which was a heavily guarded affair and attended by close friends and family, finally ended the rumor mill that had gone into a tizzy.
Virat and Anushka married according to Hindu rites, said a statement released on behalf of the actress. The wedding venue was a countryside resort in Tuscany where security had been massively stepped up for the nuptials. Entry to the resort was strictly by invitation.
Both bride and groom were dressed in Sabyasachi. Anushka’s wedding lehenga was pale pink with silver-gold embroidery. Virat’s ivory raw silk sherwani was embroidered in a vintage pattern. Sabyasachi also posted pictures of the Mehendi, with Anushka wearing a brightly colored lehenga in pink, orange, and teal.
The couple’s wedding ensembles were designed by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. It took 67 karigars and 32 days to design the bride’s wedding outfit. While talking about Anushka’s wedding lehenga the designer said, “Anushka was to get married in Florence and her lehenga just had to fit in.”
He also added that the chose a pink color so that it could blend with the whimsical Tuscan surrounding than it standing out. 67 karigars spent 32 days to craft the beautiful pink lehenga worn by Ms. Anushka Sharma on her wedding. The designer rendered exotic birds and butterflies with the finest needlework.
To complete Anushka’s look, the designer gave the actress stunning jadau jewelry that was handcrafted in uncut diamonds, pearls, and pale pink spinel. We are sure a lot of men out there are also going to get inspired by the cricketer for their wedding.
Virushka’s was touted to be the most-awaited wedding of 2017.
Sharma, with her father Ajay Kumar Sharma, mother Ashima and brother Karnesh, had plans to head to Milan from Zurich for the nuptials. After Virat Kohli asked BCCI for a break from playing matches in December, there was no rest to the couple’s wedding rumors.
