After Irrfan, Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Om Puri, Sonu Sood and Gulshan Grover found suitable roles in Hollywood, now it is Dhanush, who is one of the young Superstars in Tamil Film Industry and well known for the films like ‘Raanjhanaa’ and a super sensation song ‘Why this Kolaveri di’ is all set to debut in Hollywood. He got a chance to prove as an Actor in front of International audience.
According to the reports, it is said that Dhanush is going to star opposite Kill Bill Uma Thurman in a movie of the French best-seller “The Extraordinary Journey Of the Fakir Who Got Trapped In The Ikea Cupboard,” by Romain Puertolas. The novel, which came out in 2014, has been translated into 35 languages.
Dhanush will play the role of a fakir named Ajatashatru Oghash Rathod, a conjurer from a lost colony of Indian artists, sent to Paris on a mysterious mission by his mother. The film will be helmed by graphic novelist and filmmaker Marjane Satrapi, who was behind the Persepolis book series. The director is excited that the protagonist is an Indian magician who is funny, sensitive, witty and full of grace.
Explaining why she chose Dhanush, Marjane says, “As I was watching various Indian movies, Dhanush became the most obvious choice his intelligence, his killer smile, his ability to enter fully into the skin of any character he played (and I can go on and on forever) made me confident that he was the one.” Sources indicate that the shoot is scheduled in India, France, Italy and Morocco in mid-2016.
“I am very excited by this opportunity to work in a full-length Hollywood film. The director, Marjane Satrapi, felt I would be apt for this role and I feel there are many facets I can explore for this character,” Dhanush said.
