Polaroid Snap and Polaroid Power Smartphones Unveiled at CES 2016 – Price, Specs & Features

Polaroid, a brand licensor to companies that distribute consumer electronics has unveiled two new smartphones at the Consumer Electronics Show 2016 held in Las Vegas. At the CES show, it has announced two unlocked smartphones namely Polaroid Snap and Polaroid Power smartphones. Polaroid has introduced two new handsets to their lineup of unlocked smartphones at the CES International Trade show 2016.

Among the two new Android smartphones, the Polaroid Power unlocked smartphone will be available at a price of $249.99 (approximately Rs 16,750). While the Polaroid Snap unlocked smartphone will be available for purchase starting next month in three variants sporting 5, 5.5, and 6-inch displays. This device will be available at an MSRP of $129.99 – $179.99 (approximately Rs 8,700- 12,000) depending on the screen size.

“We’re expanding our unlocked smartphone line with a focus on enhanced camera capabilities, upgraded features and providing, even more, choices for consumers to customize their mobile lifestyles,” said Polaroid President and CEO Scott W. Hardy.

Specifications

The new Polaroid Snap unlocked smartphone will be available in three variant screen sizes such as 5-inch, 5.5-inch, and 6-inch that comes with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1280pixels. The handset is powered by a quad-core processor which is coupled with 2GB RAM. On the storage front, the smartphone includes an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded via microSD card.

Apart from the onboard storage, the device will also sport an additional 1GB RAM/8GB internal storage variant. On the camera front, the device comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front-facing snapper.

On the other hand, the Polaroid Power unlocked smartphone sports a 6-inch full-HD display with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920pixels. The handset is powered by an octa-core processor which is coupled with 3GB RAM. On the storage front, the smartphone includes an internal storage of 32GB.

On the camera front, the device comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front-facing camera. The smartphone is power-packed by a 3000mAh battery that completes the package. The company announced that the Polaroid Power smartphone will come with an additional 8000mAh external power bank.

The company entered the smartphone market last year with Polaroid Selfie smartphone which was also announced at the CES 2015 Trade Show. The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch display with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1280p. The device comes with a rotating camera alike the Oppo N1 smartphone.
