Vivo Expected to Unveil ‘X6’ Series of Smartphones Today, Spotted on Tenaa Listings

Vivo Electronics, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer which is very active in the Asian mobile phone market is expected to unveil its upcoming ‘Vivo X6’ smartphone in an event today. The company had confirmed that it will host an event today, where it is most anticipated to unveil a pair of Vivo X6 series smartphones. The company had also posted a teaser image for the handset on its Weibo website as well. Recently, Tenaa has listed two smartphones with images namely Vivo X6 Plus L and Vivo X6 Plus D.

Besides these two smartphones, Tenaa website also listed another Vivo X6 Plus variant with name Vivo X6 Plus A without unveiling any specifications of the device. The company is yet to take the wraps off its new smartphones, the Vivo Y51A and the Vivo Y37A which have got through China’s TENAA certification. The certification of Tenaa shows that the company will unveil Vivo Y series smartphones alongside the launch of the Vivo X6, and the Vivo X6 Plus smartphones.

Expected Specifications

According to a report, the Vivo X6 Plus variant is rumored to feature a 5.7-inch display. The smartphone will be powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 64-bit processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The device will come with an inbuilt storage of 32GB which can be further expandable via microSD card slot. The handset is rumoured to feature a 21MP rear camera along with a 12MP front-facing snapper. The Vivo X6 Plus is rumoured to have a fingerprint scanner along with a whopping 4000mAh battery.

Earlier this month, Vivo’s other variant of X6 smartphone had been spotted in a TENAA listing which revealed some of the specifications. According to the report, the device will feature a 6-inch QHD display with a pixel resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The smartphone will be powered by a deca-core MediaTek (MT6795) Helio X20 processor coupled with 4GB RAM. On the storage front, the device will include an internal storage of 32GB which can be further expandable via microSD card.

The device is most likely to run Android 5.1 Lollipop and will be backed by a 4,000mAh battery. On the camera front, the smartphone comes equipped with a 21MP rear camera along with a 12MP front-facing camera. In terms of connectivity, the handset includes the following connectivity features:

  • Bluetooth
  • GPS

Jerome Chen, Deputy General Manager at Vivo India said that the company would be investing Rs. 125 crore by the end of the year in India. Speaking about the competition in the Indian market, Chen said, “We are in India as the country is seeing a massive smartphone growth. We are not focusing on competition but on our core competencies like music, design to woo consumers and give them satisfaction.”

The Vivo X6 Plus smartphone is said to be launched alongside the Vivo X6 smartphone on 30 November i.e., today at a launch event. However, all the other details such as price, specifications and availability will be revealed only after the official launch of the smartphones.
