Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is planning to launch a new smartphone soon, and it will be big. Xiaomi has already commenced teasing its upcoming Mi Max smartphone and the company has also confirmed that it will be revealed on May 10. In a Weibo post, Xiaomi announced that the new Mi Max will be unveiled officially at an event at the Beijing National Convention Centre. The company also announced that the tickets for event are now available for interested Mi adorers. The company recently teased its new smart device in its MIUI fan forums, with a picture of the phablet in the pocket of a pair of jeans.
Compared to its preceding smartphones, Xiaomi is now going to launch a pretty smaller device that could easily fit into one’s pocket of a pair of jeans. So, now onwards, you need not carry the smartphone in your hand for a long time instead you can simply place it in your jean’s pocket. Xiaomi gave the world first glimpse of the upcoming Mi Max smartphone on its Weibo post. In the shared image, the top front panel of the device was partially revealed.
Xiaomi Teases New Mi Max Phablet
A recently leaked image claims that the new unannounced Xiaomi Max showed the phablet to feature a similar design language as the company’s flagship device, the Mi 5. Almost similar the flagship, the Max was seen sporting a home button which was anticipated to integrate the fingerprint scanner. Besides the front panel, the rear camera setup on the Max phablet also looked similar to the Xiaomi Mi 5.
Firstly, we heard some news about the ‘Xiaomi Max’ device when the Chinese company ran a poll in its home country, asking users what should be the name of its next smartphone. Out of the four options available to users, ‘Xiaomi Max’ received the most votes.
Before the May 10 launch event, Xiaomi’s Mi Max has been spotted in a GFXBench listing allegedly revealing the device’s details. According to the GFXBench listing, the Mi Max will sport a massive 6.4-inch full-HD display. The handset is said to run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and it is powered by hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor couple with a 2 GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the handset comes with a 16GB of storage.
On the camera front, the device comes equipped with a 16-megapixel rear while the other side sports a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The new Mi Max will be quite bigger than the current largest Mi Note Pro with a 5.7-inch display while smaller than the 7.9-inch Mi Pad 2.
It is mentioned that the Mi Max fits in a pocket should mean the size would be around 6- to 6.5-inches. Interestingly, Xiaomi also says that the Mi Max will not have any Mi branding on the front panel, something that’s usually found on most phones. The company announced that the new Mi Max will debut on May 10 in Beijing at an event. If size doesn’t matter for you, then Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi Max phablet could be just the phone you’re looking for.
