Police officials said that a 2-year-old kid was mauled to death after it was attacked by a leopard in Sarisya, Amreli which near the Gir Forest.

D T Vasavada the Senior Forest Officer said that the horrible incident happened by midnight on Monday after a leopard sneaked inside the house of a local farmer in the village of Gopalgam, the leopard took the 2-year-old kid.

D T Vasavada the Senior Forest Officer said “After entering the house, the leopard caught hold of the sleeping boy and started running towards the forest area. However, the boy’s grandfather, who was working nearby, shouted for help. Hearing the noise, the leopard left the dead child and ran away.”

D T Vasavada the Senior Forest Officer said that in order to prevent future happenings like these traps have been placed in different areas to capture the animal.
