Maximum Swine Flu Patients Witnessed In West Zone-Ahmedabad

Swine Flu has its adverse effects on India starting from the period of 2009-10, as of now, it is believed that over 1000 people lost their lives to this miserable disease. With many cases still unregistered, the count might go anywhere.

Earlier, we reported that the laboratories made a strong case for making such tests available to nonhospitalized patients with suspected H1N1 symptoms on Wednesday, firstly, Pune-based National Institute of Virology (NIV) was the only laboratory, which was testing throat swab samples to confirm the H1N1 virus.

Considering the outbreak of this in the west-zone that includes: Maharastra, Orissa, Gujarat, the Health department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) have stepped up their efforts to face the issue.

As of now, it is believed that the maximum cases have been reported from the new West Zone. This year, the new West Zone has reported around 305 cases, while in 2015 the zone had around 593 cases making it the highest swine flu-affected zone in the city.

On the other hand, the Central Zone has reported the least number of cases compared to other zones. In 2015, the zone had reported 167 cases while this year it has reported around 113 cases in total.
