Listerine and other mouthwashes are obviously created to freshen your breath and kill germs in your mouth. But, before Listerine found its true commercial calling as a mouthwash, it was a general purpose antiseptic for use in surgical procedures! 1. Clean mold and mildew in your bathroom


Listerine is great for cleaning mold and mildew. Simply soak your cleaning tool in Listerine and scrub away (or) Pour 1/2 a cup of Listerine in your toilet and swirl it around with the help of a toilet brush. Allow it to sit for 1/2 an hour and then flush it.

2. Get rid of pimples

All you need to do is wash your face well and then take a few drops of Listerine in a cotton ball and gently dab it on the pimple or the area where the pimple is cropping up.

3. Eliminate germs and odors in your garbage disposal

Speaking of stinky things, have you ever been cooking in your kitchen and noticed a foul smell emanating from your sink? To eliminate sink odors, simply pour half a cup of mouthwash down the disposal.

4. Get rid of dandruff

Listerine can actually help get rid of dandruff! Wet your hair with Listerine and let sit for about 15 minutes before shampooing as normal. After multiple treatments, the anti-fungal ingredients in Listerine should help clean up that embarrassing dandruff completely!

5. Clean mirrors and windows:

Put some Listerine in a spray bottle with 50% water for streak free mirrors and windows. You can also clean the screens of your television and computer with Listerine and a soft cloth.

6. Use it by dabbing it on the itchy skin.

Listerine can help treat rashes and reactions to allergens such as poison oak and poison ivy.  It will also help relieve the itch from mosquito bites.

7. Get rid of mildew and fungus

Get rid of mildew and fungus from the soil of your plants by mixing 1 parts Listerine with 3 parts water into a spray bottle. Spray the area where the plant meets the soil once a week.

8. It can be applied to your dogs too!

Skip the pricey products and use mouthwash to get rid of your pet’s fleas. Mix it with shampoo in a bath or diluting it with water and using it as a spray.

9. Out of deodorant? Use Listerine!

Run out of deodorant? Dip a cotton ball into some Listerine and dab it on your under arms. You will not stink anymore.

10. Kill the germs on your toothbrush.

Immersing your brush in Listerine for 20 minutes has been proven to be just as effective as soaking your brush in expensive toothbrush sanitizers.

11. Help eliminate foot odor

Use a small amount on a cotton ball and rub over feet to help kill the bacteria that causes odor.
