The L&T Metro Rail is announced that about 17 metro stations in Hyderabad are awarded Platinum certification by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) on Wednesday.
To encourage the green concepts in the design, construction and operation of all new the IGBC has launched the Green Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS).
Shivanand Nimbargi, MD & CEO of L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited said, “this achievement as a proud moment for L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited. The IGBC Platinum rating reinstates the fact that L&T has followed the best international practices in constructing the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project.”
The rating system is helping us in addressing national priorities like conservating natural resources, demand-side energy, and water efficiency, management of waste and commuter health and comfort etc.
The metros received the platinum award for Nagole, Uppal, Survey of India, NGRI, Habsiguda, Tarnaka, Mettuguda, Miyapur, JNTU College, KPHB Colony, Kukatpally, Balanagar, Moosapet, Bharat Nagar, Erragadda, ESI Hospital and SR Nagar stations. All these stations have achieved 75 points each.
K.P. Sreehari, head (quality) and Shubhra Khullar, manager, project control from C.N. Raghavendran, Chairman of IGBC- Chennai Chapter in presence of K. Tewari, Adviser, Railway Board, and V. Suresh, Chairman, Policy & Advocacy Committee, IGBC has received the award on behalf of L&TMRH.
