Jaipur, India: A 16-year-old girl was found dead inside her house in Dholpur District of Rajasthan on the evening of Sunday this week after she was reportedly raped by 2 men.

The father of the girl came up against the allegations and said that he personally knows one of the rapists.

The police said that the father of the girl visited their house in the evening and raped his daughter.

The 2 men have been identified as 23-year-old Bunty and 20-year-old Harkesh, they were detained by the police for questioning.

Kesar Singh, the Dholpur City’s Superintendent of Police, said that the father of the victim told them that the 2 suspects entered his house and raped his daughter. As a result of the traumatic incident, the girl committed suicide.

After a postmortem was done, the body of the girl was handed back to the family for last rites.

The girl and Bunty knew each other for some time and he had gone to their house to meet her along with Harkesh, his friend, said the police.

The autopsy report will confirm the rape.

A case of rape under sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered at the police station.
