New Delhi: A 21-year-old woman was gang-raped by 5 men at a park in Noida on November 13, 2019, said the Delhi police on Friday.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the 21-year-old woman went to the park to meet a friend who told her that he would help her find a job in New Delhi.
4 of the 6 men, which include the friend of the woman, have been arrested by the police. 2 of the suspects are currently on the run.
According to Vaibhav Krishna, a senior police officer in New Delhi, the crime happened at a park in Noida Sector 63, New Delhi.
The police said the 21-year-old woman is uneducated and was looking for a job in New Delhi.
The woman went to the park to meet a friend, who is also the friend of his brother. The friend reportedly assured her that he would find a job for her.
Upon meeting at the park, the man talked with the woman, and instead of helping her he started to molest her.
A group of men saw the man molesting her, and decided to help the woman.
After chasing the man away, the group of men raped the 21-year-old woman.
The 21-year-old woman went to a police station in Noida Sector 63, Phase III, and registered an FIR (First Information Report) against the friend and the 5 men.
Officer Krishna assigned a team for the incident and arrested the 4 men right away.
The 21-year-old was sent for a medical test that would confirm if she was raped by the men.
The woman is also getting legal help.
The names of the woman or the suspects were not shared with the public.
