24-Year-Old Man Cuts Off Own Tongue And Offers It To Deity In Bid To Stop Coronavirus Spread

A 24-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh, India, reportedly hacked his own tongue and offered it to deity in a bid to stop the coronavirus spread.

It is understood that the man did this act in order to please a deity of the Hindu Religion.

Vivek Sharma, the 24-year-old man, had been employed with 8 other stone sculptors to work on the extension of a Mata temple in Suigam.

A co-worker of Sharma said that the man is a hardline devotee of Kali Mata (Kali Maa), the Mother Goddess.

On the morning of April 18, 2020, Sharma left the Bhavani temple and said that he was going to the market.

When he did not return, his brother called his phone, but instead of his brother answering it, someone else did and informed that something bad had happened.

That someone told his brother that Vivek had chopped off his tongue at the Nadeshwari Temple.

According to reports, Vivek was in a rage with the coronavirus lockdown, so he thought that by sacrificing the tongue he would please the god to stop the coronavirus from spreading any further.

The priest of the Nadeshwari Temple called the police and informed him about the incident.

Upon arriving, the police said they saw Vivek lying on the floor with the tongue in his hand.

Vivek was rushed to the hospital and is recovering from the injuries that he sustained.
