The Thane police have arrested 43-year-old man for kidnapping and raping a 7-year-old girl after he lured her with chocolates.
According to Jitendra Rathod, a Senior Police Inspector at the Thane Police, the incident happened when the parents of the 7-year-old girl went to work.
The girl was playing alone near her house on August 29, 2019, when 43-year-old Santosh Shinde lured the girl with chocolates and brought her to her place without informing anyone.
Shinde then raped the minor inside his house.
Officer Shinde said the incident came to light when the parents of the girl came back home from home.
The parents found the 7-year-old girl scared when they got home, when they asked her what happened, the girl narrated the entire incident.
43-year-old Shinde is a resident of Manpada, Thane, he is currently facing charges of rape and unnatural sex under the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the Indian Penal Code.
Shind has been placed in judicial custody until September 4, 2019.
The 7-year-old minor, whose identity was not shared with the public due to the laws of India, is currently being treated at the Thane Civil Hospital.
