Shivam Kumar, a 6-year-old boy from India, was born with a tail, and in his hometown, he is worshiped as a monkey god.
The neighbors of the boy believe he is a god due to the unusual growth of a tail on his back and his massive clump of hair around it.
The neighbors of Kumar shower him with snacks and chocolates.
When news broke out about his tail, people in New Delhi came to his house with flowers believing he was the reincarnation of Hanuman, a monkey god in the Hindu religion.
30-year-old Reena, Shivam’s mother, was shocked after she realized something was growing on her son’s back.
The family of Kumar refused to shave the hair and remove the tail on his back because “it would bring a bad omen for their family”.
Getting sick and tired of the visitors that were coming to their house, the family of Kumar asked a local guru to stop letting people worship their son as a god.
The visitors did stop to come, but the love people had for the kid did not stop.
Reena said, “Everyone loves him so much in my neighbourhood. Initially, it caused a problem for us as people would visit our house every other day which would hinder our daily lives.”
Reena added, “Our guru suggested asking people to stop this madness and let them live their life, so we followed his instructions and the people now have lessened approaching us although it has not stopped completely. Sometimes people would come and ask about Shivam but we would deny them by saying he is not in the house.”
When Reena was asked if she wanted to get treatment for her son, Reena simply replied “there is nothing wrong with my son as he is perfectly healthy.”
Reena added, “This is by his birth, we know he is special but we cannot shave the hairs as it would bring a bad omen for our family. This might have been a gift of God and we do not want to tamper with any of his plans.”
The Grandmother of Shivam says the young boy acts like a monkey.
The family says the boy laughs like an ape and loves to jump around.
The grandmother added, “He will invert himself and stay with his legs up in the air just like a monkey would do. We initially thought it would improve with time but this is also similarly an indication that he might be an incarnation of Lord Hanuman and we cannot deny it.”
The tail of Shivam is still short, but the family believes it will grow up as he will get older.
