Mumbai, India: A 70-year-old woman was found dead with multiple stab wounds on her body inside the bathroom of her flat.

According to reports, the incident happened on Monday in a flat in Chembur, Mumbai.

The dead body of 70-year-old Sajnabai Patil was spotted by Anand Patil, her nephew, on Monday.

Patil informed the police afterward.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the body of Sajnabai Patil had around 14 stab wounds.

The woman also showed signs of being strangled before her death.

The Mumbai police believe that robbery is the motive behind the heinous crime.

Several items inside her flat were missing and most of them were lying scattered.

An official investigation has been launched about the incident.

The authorities did not reveal if the woman had any family members or who came to the scene after her family was informed about the incident.
