A 60-year-old man has been booked for giving triple talaq to his 26-year-old wife in Ajmer Dargah, the police confirmed on Thursday.
The 60-year-old man is a caretaker at the Ajmer Dargah.
Salimuddin, the 60-year-old caretaker, is facing charges of harassment and for giving triple talaq to his 26-year-old wife.
A First Information Report under the IPC section 498-A (subjecting a married woman to cruelty) against Salimuddin.
The wife said Salimuddin also gave her the triple talaq.
Hem Raj, a police officer in Ajmer, said the couple got married in 2017.
In the complaint that was registered against Salimuddin, the wife claims her husband started to harass her a month after they got married.
Officer Raj said the husband gave her the triple talaq earlier.
The police are currently seeking legal help so they could help the wife file a triple talaq case against Salimuddin.
Triple Talaq is banned in India and anyone who pleads guilty in giving the talaq could face serious jail time.
