We are all tired of hearing that people in India do not really behave as Good Samaritans when it comes to traffic rules or making way for ambulances during heavy rush on roads. Of course, coming out of a huge crowd of people at a festive time is definitely a nightmare.
But breaking the stereotypes of this kind, we have seen a wonderful moment last year when people of Pune restored our faith in humanity by this awful act of making Way For AMBULANCE while huge Ganesh Visarjan celebrations were going on.
Well again, a similar sort of incident took place but a policeman did it all single-handedly that too in a critical situation involving the big man of our country i.e, the President. Wanna know what happened actually, read the complete story here…
As we all know a policeman’s job in India is not an easy one. And though the police force is there to protect and help the citizens of this country – and they do so as well – there are times when they find themselves in a fix when dealing with VIPs. Every day we see how politicians and government officials misuse their position to flaunt their status. In spite of so much awareness and even after Supreme Court orders on the issue, VVIP racism is quite rampant in our country.
Amid all this negativity, this Bengaluru traffic cop’s quick thinking comes as a breath of fresh air. The traffic cop deployed at Bengaluru’s Trinity Circle stopped President of India Pranab Mukherjee’s convoy to make way for an ambulance pass through a busy junction.
Watch the proud moment here.
Our @blrcitytraffic wisely allowed an ambulance with patient seconds before @RashtrapatiBhvn convoy arrived. Kudos! @BangaloreMirror video pic.twitter.com/cud60A5276

The traffic police sub-inspector, ML Nijalingappa, has won hearts in the city and on social media alike for making way for an ambulance even as a convoy of the President of India was to pass through a busy junction.
President Pranab Mukherjee was in the Bengaluru city for the inauguration of Namma Metro’s Green Line. His convoy was heading towards the Raj Bhavan. During that time, the traffic police noticed that an ambulance with its siren on was trying to find a way towards a private hospital near HAL.
Acting swiftly, Nijalingappa didn’t think twice and he chose to stop the first citizen of the country and directed the ambulance to pass through the traffic-stricken junction.
Nijalingappa’s act has garnered praises not only from the Bengaluru Police Department but from netizens as well. He chose to save a life over maintaining the status quo and now the Bengaluru Police have decided to reward him for doing his duty.
The policeman who took such initiative to be rewarded. Well done! @AddlCPTraffic 👍👍 https://t.co/GJhFVBrAap

It’s everyone’s duty. The way this news has gained attention only shows what happens most of the time in these cases. Kudos to the officer!

Good trend. But why should there be a preferential treatment for politicians. They wil understand common man’s woes only when stuck in traffic

in theory yes….but in the Indian context this is HUGE decision for a policeman to make…must be recognized and encouraged.
