Bihar: Woman Who Was Believed To Be A “Witchcraft” Beaten To Death With Bamboo Poles
Koyaligarh, Bihar: 50-year-old woman, who is believed to be a “Witchcraft”, was beaten to death with bamboo poles and wooden sticks by the villagers for performing suspicious acts.
According to Jyoti Punj, the SHO of the Govindpur Police Station said that the woman was thrashed by the villagers on Tuesday morning.
SHO Punj added, “The woman was brought to the police station by her husband and other family members. Noticing her critical condition, we rushed her to a primary health center, where doctors declared her brought dead.”
The husband of the 50-year-old woman has registered a complaint against 12 people, who are residents of the Koyaligarh Village.
In the complaint that was registered by the husband of the woman, he said that his wife went to get water in the village when she was thrashed by the villagers.
The husband added that he found her lying with injuries and blood all over her after some time.
The police have arrested 4 out of 12 of the named suspects.
The police are currently finding the 8 people who are named in the complaint.
The body of the 50-year-old woman has been sent for an autopsy and further investigation is on the way.
