Chhattisgarh: 4 People Killed And 3 Others Left Injured In Horror Bear Attack

A horrific bear attack that happened in Chhattisgarh, India has left 4 people dead and 3 others severely injured.

According to reports, the people were returning from a jungle when the incident happened.

The attack happened in Chhattisgarh, India, on the evening of Sunday.

Officials said that a rescue operation went on until the late night of Sunday this week.

Villagers were returning from the words when the bear attacked them.

Some of the villagers climbed on trees.

3 people were injured in the incident, unfortunately, 4 of them were killed due to the severity of their injuries.

The dead people have been identified as Phool Sai, Ijaoria Sai, Rajkumari Sai, and one Shivachan Sai.

Inspector-General of Police, Surguja Range, Ratanlal Dangi, released a statement about the unfortunate incident.

In the statement, they said:

A group of local tribals of Angwahi village were returning home after collecting forest produce from the jungle when a bear attacked them. Four of them were killed while some people climbed on trees.  We got information and launched a rescue operation inside the jungle. During the rescue operations, four bodies were recovered and the rescue team managed to save a person who climbed a tree. Three others who were injured in the attack were also rescued by the team.

Collector Satyanarayan Rathore, Superintendent of Police ( SP) Chandramohan Singh and rescue teams went to the scene right away after locals and villagers reported the horrible incident to them.

It took the authorities the entire night to find the bodies and the injured people.

The IG said that 2 women were found dead in the forest during the search and rescue operation during the night.

Officials said that the bear was roaming around the area and the rescue team managed to scare them away.

The bear was a male, confirmed the IG.

The injured villagers were rushed to the local government-run hospital.
