Coronavirus Lockdown: Man Arrested For Trying To Smuggle Liquor Bottles In Milk Containers During Liquor Ban

New Delhi, India: A milkman was arrested by the police for trying to sneak in and carrying liquor bottles inside milk containers.

Bobby Chaudhary, the milkman, was arrested by the police for placing liquor inside the milk containers that he was carrying.

Chaudhary, who is a milkman by profession, admitted that he bought the liquor for his cousin’s birthday party at a time when the city is under lockdown and non-essential services such as liquor shops are closed.

The milkman was caught carrying 7 liquor bottles, which were hidden in milk containers to slip past the police pickets.

According to the police, a police constable and sub-inspector caught him on Monday (April 6, 2020) near the South Avenue Road Picket, New Delhi.

The man was charged at the South Avenue Police Station.

The police were on night duty when they received Intel about the milkman who was roaming the city during night time.

As a result, the police attempted to stop the man, however, he sped and tried to run away.

The police got into a chase and ended up arresting the man near the Gate number 4 of the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Eish Singhal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi), said, “The police found that he had four milk containers and was carrying seven bottles of Royal Green Classic Blended liquor.”

DCP Singhal added, “Bobby Chaudhary was arrested under sections of Epidemic Act, Delhi Excise Act, MV Act, and IPC.”

During interrogation, the man admitted that he bought the liquor bottles from Gurgaon.

Bobby said that he was trying to get home and was roaming near New Delhi.

An official investigation has been launched against the milkman.
