There are no any lessons about the mindset and thoughts of the ancient people. This could be probably because ancient Indians were extremely modern and broadminded in their mindset.

We all don’t know that in ancient India, in the times of Vedic period, there are women ascetics and they were called as Rishikas. They are known to be tribes in northern India.

According to Manusmriti, the most important and most studied ancient legal text says that in ancient India, women had the liberty to earn money and spend them in whichever way they like. Women had full right to receive as much education as they want even it was more than men.

Coming to Mahabharata, it tells that if women don’t want to be closely acquainted, no man will force them. Men have to be in control in such situations and walk on the path of righteousness to control them. A man has no right to beat his wife and treat her in an ill manner.

According to Lakshmi Tantra, an ancient text, all women have to be respected and should be treated equally irrespective of their appearance and their looks.

Women have had the freedom of choosing their life partner. If she wishes to remain as spinster, it’s her decision. This rule is totally different from the ancient period to present modern world.

Sex was not considered as a taboo in ancient India. People would talk freely about sex in those days. Sex was never an aspect for men and it is done only when both men and women agrees.

In olden days, there was no issue over the intactness of a woman’s hymen. Woman’s virginity was never a matter even if there was no hymen.

Dating between men and women is also there in ancient days. Rather, whenever the duo went to a public place for dating, no one would disturb them.

Upanishads states that even women can study Veda, Upanishads and all texts and they also can choose to be ‘acharya’ or a teacher.

The Indian art was never been questioned when they displayed sexual acts of love in public and in temples. People have had an open approach towards things and the boldness can be seen by us even today for example, the sculptures on the walls of Khajurao and Markandeswar temples.

Actually there are no many women in ancient India who was brave; very few like Rani Chennamma, Rudramdevi are the brave women who had ruled their dynasties.
