Rohtak, Haryana: A woman and her 3-year-old daughter died after the husband of the woman set them on fire.

The incident happened in the Rohtak, Haryana, a state in India, confirmed the police on Wednesday.

The 2-year-old daughter of the man, who is the youngest daughter of the man, sustained injuries from the incident.

The police said that the incident happened on June 9, 2020.

Rajesh, the 32-year-old husband of the woman, has been arrested and charged for murder on the complaint of Mahendra, the father of the 28-year-old woman.

Kuldeep Singh, senior police at the Old Subzi Mandi police, said they were called on the spot after the incident.

Upon arriving, authorities found the charred bodies of the woman and her daughter on a cot.

The 2-year-old girl was outside the room but had injuries from the fire.

Rajesh, a laborer, fled away from the scene after the incident.

He was arrested by the police on Tuesday by the police in Rohtak.

Officer Singh said that Rajesh attacked the police with stones when they came to arrest him, however, he was arrested after he got surrounded by the police.

Rajesh is facing an attempt to murder charges for attacking the police.

The 2-year-old daughter of Rajesh is currently out of danger.

In his complaint, Mahendra said that Rajesh had been harassing his daughter since they got married 7 years ago.
