In 1984, IBPS became an independent entity at the behest of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Public Sector Banks. IBPS recruits the candidates in two tier or three tier process. The PO exam is in three stages i.e; Prelims, Mains and the Interview whereas the IBPS CWE V clerk exam is a two-tier process i.e; Prelims and Mains examination.
