India: 4-Year-Old Girl Recovers From Coronavirus After Home Treatment In Madhya Pradesh

Indore, Madhya Pradesh: A 4-year-old girl has recovered from the coronavirus after she was treated by authorities in her house in a containment area.

A health official from Indore said on Sunday that the girl was treated as part of the home isolation program on Indore.

The 4-year-old girl, whose identity was not shared with the public, was one of the 153 patients that recovered from the disease after being treated at their house for 17 days.

Dr. Sunil Gangarade, the coordinator of the “home isolation” program, confirmed the news.

Her father said that the girl tested positive from the disease, and was in complete shock as no one in their family had the disease.

The child did not show any symptoms of the deadly disease.

During an interview with Dr. Sunil, he told PTI:

I told the authorities I want my child to be treated at home and not in a hospital. A total of 153 people, including this 4-year-old girl and a 78-year-old woman, have been discharged.

Dr. Gangarade said that 254 patients, mostly asymptomatic and some of them showing mild symptoms have been treated under the home isolation program.

The program started on May 5, 2020.

Indore currently has around 4,329 COVID-19 patients, and 197 have died of the infection.
