India: Ghaziabad Man Stabs 19-Year-Old Woman To Death For Rejecting His Marriage Proposal

Ghaziabad, India: A 19-year-old woman was stabbed to death by a man after she rejected his marriage proposal, confirmed the police.

Sher Khan, the accused man, was arrested by the police on Sunday (June 21, 2020). He is a native of the Sunder Nagri area of Delhi.

According to the police, the woman was returning from the Tulsi Niketan Colony market with her parents on June 17, 2020, when she and her mother stopped at a local area to eat fast food.

Khan, who was also present in the area, approached the woman and stabbed her a couple of times.

The woman, whose identity was not shared with the public, was rushed to the GTB Hospital, which is located in Delhi.

Doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

Senior Superintendent of Police Kalanidhi Naithani said that Khan had been pressuring her to marry him even if she had rejected his proposal.

The marriage of the victim had been fixed with another person, said the police.

Sher Khan was arrested by the police from the Panchsheel Colony of Teela Mod area on the evening of Sunday by a team of police and crime branch.

The knife that was used in the killing of the 19-year-old girl has been recovered by the police.

4 accomplices of the accused have also been arrested by the police, said  Senior Superintendent of Police Kalanidhi Naithani.
