India: Kolkata Man Throws Children From Roof Over Family Dispute

Kolkata, India: A 2-year-old boy died and another sustained life-threatening injuries after they were thrown off the roof of a four-story building by a 55-year-old man who had a dispute with the father of the children.

It is said that the incident happened in the Burrabazar area of Kolkata.

The second boy, who is reported to be 6 years old, was rushed to a local hospital and is currently in a serious condition.

The 55-year-old man has been arrested by the police, said the police.

Murlidhar Sharma, the Joint Commissioner of Police, said:

Two boys – aged two years and six years – fell down or were thrown off the fourth floor of a building. When they were taken to a hospital, the two-year-old was declared brought dead.

Locals, as well as family members of the 2 kids, said that a man threw them off the roof of the building.

JCP (Joint Commissioner of Police) Sharma added:

The man was arrested and is being interrogated. Strong legal action will be taken against the culprit.

Preliminary investigations released that the man that threw the kids off the roof had a dispute with the father of the 2-year-old boy that died.

The 6-year-old boy is the son of another man that lives in the area.

The relationship between the 2 children was not shared with the public.

An official investigation for the incident has been launched by the police.
