A 28-year-old boxing coach was arrested by the police for sexually assaulting his 19-year-old student earlier this year.

According to the West Bengal Police, the incident happened in West Bengal earlier this year when the 2 were in a tournament.

The 19-year-old woman was representing Haryana in the tournament.

The 19-year-old said she was going to Kolkata from New Delhi on February 27, 2020, along with her team members to participate in the tournament when her coach sexually assaulted her on the train.

The woman in her complaint also said that she was sexually abused by her coach when they were staying in Kolkata.

The woman registered a case against the coach.

The police arrested the coach, who has 2 children, from Sonipat, Haryana.

Upon interrogation, the 28-year-old coach confessed that the sexually assaulted the woman boxer.

The coach reportedly runs a boxing academy in Sonipat and has represented the country in previous boxing tournaments.

The coach reportedly has 2 children.
