A group of fishermen from Kerala, India, are being praised on social media for releasing an endangered whale shark back in the water after it accidentally got caught in their nets while they were fishing.
In a video that was posted on Twitter, you can see a group of fishermen releasing the whale shark back into the sea.
The video was shared on Twitter by InSeason Fish, a group that works in helping conserve the environment.
According to reports, the incident happened in Kozhikode, Kerala.
You can see fishermen holding the whale shark trying to get it back into the waters so it could survive.
Whale sharks are the largest fish in the ocean.
The whale shark is capable of reaching up to 40 feet in length.
Whale Sharks are listed on the endangered species list of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
In the video, you can see 7 fishermen working together to lift the whale shark with the help of ropes so they could release in the water.
The video has been viewed over 30,000 times since it was shared on Twitter.
Users of Twitter praised the kind fishermen for doing the right thing, which was to release the shark back in the water.
According to the Wildlife Trust of India, whale sharks are protected amazingly in India.
Whale Sharks are listed in the Schedule I of India’s Wild Life (Protection) Act in 2001.
