Guwahati, India: A group of hunters was caught on cam killing a 12-feet massive King Cobra for their meal in Arunachal Pradesh.
In the video that was shared on social media, you can see 3 men walking with the carcass of the venomous snake.
According to reports, the 3 men killed the snake in the jungle of Guwahati as they were craving meat after failing to eat anything in the last couple of days.
After killing the deadly snake, the men made arrangements for the feast and laid banana leaves to slice and clean the snake.
A man in the video can be heard saying that they do not have any food in their house due to the ongoing lockdown.
The men also said that they have not eaten anything for some time.
As a result, they went to the jungle and found the King Cobra, which they killed.
The men also claimed that they had no access to rice because of the lockdown measures.
But the government of the Arunachal Pradesh state dismissed the claims of the men in the video and said that the state has 3 months of rice in stock.
The government said:
“The state has at least three months of stock at all places and is providing free ration to those who lost their livelihood.”
After the video went viral, the police registered a case against the 3 men under the Wildlife Protection Act.
The 3 men, whose identity was not shared with the public.
The King Cobra species are protected under the Wildlife Protection Act.
Anyone caught killing the animal can face jail time and there is no bail for it.
