Indian Man Arrested For Beating Wife To Death With A Stick Over Suspicion Of Extramarital Affair

A man from New Delhi, India, was arrested by the police after he beat his wife to death because he thought she had an extramarital affair.

The incident happened in Basaidarapur area of West Delhi.

Sumit Lama, the accused, beat 50-year-old Rita Thapa to death inside their house on the evening of Sunday.

Rita got married to Sumit, who works as a bus driver with a travel agency, in 2014 after her first husband died.

On Monday around 11:30 am, Krishna Thapa, the 27-year-old son of Rita from her first marriage, called the police and informed them about the murder.

During the investigation, it was found that someone known to Rita killed her.

The police didn’t find anything wrong in her room and other parts of the house.

According to the police, Krishna told them that Sumit, his step-father, had gotten into a fight with his mother.

After gathering information, the police arrested Sumit from the Tagore Garden on Monday.

The police said Sumit was planning to leave the country and go to Nepal.

After he was arrested, Sumit admitted that he committed the crime.

Sumit told the police that he suspected that his wife was having an extramarital affair.

He said on the evening of Sunday he came home to find Rita in a drunk condition, which led to a fight and eventually the murder.

Sumit said he beat his wife with a stick.

After the murder, he left the scene.
