A man from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, was hospitalized after he was brutally beaten up by the family of his girlfriend after they got to know about their relationship.

The Muzaffarnagar police said the boy is currently in a serious condition.

A senior police officer with the Muzaffarnagar Police said a case was registered against the father and the brother of the girl for beating up the teen.

The incident reportedly happened on Friday.

The mother of the victim said that Saleem, the father of the girl, Yakoob, the brother of the girl, and 2 other men beat her son up after they saw his son sitting with the girl.

The police said the 2 families live in the same neighborhood.

The girl and the boy are lovers but belong to 2 different communities.

The family of the girl is reportedly against their relationship.

The boy is reportedly in a serious condition at a hospital in Muzaffarnagar.
