A 32-year-old man reportedly battered his mother to death with a bat, stuffed her body in a box, and dumped it in a drain in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh.

The news was announced by the police at a press conference on Saturday.

Santosh Patil, the accused, was arrested by the police for killing Vimla Bai, his 50-year-old mother.

The entire incident was reportedly caught on a CCTV camera.

Shivdayal Singh, the Superintendent of the Police, said, “Santosh killed his 50-year-old mother Vimla Bai with a wooden club on Monday and then put the body in a box.”

The police said Patil was annoyed by the continuous nagging of her mother.

Patil admitted that he got the idea of killing his mother from a television serial.

According to the police, Patil kept the body of her mother inside their house for 4 straight days before stuffing the body in a box.

Pail later disposed of the box in a drain.
