A 27-year-old Indian man has been arrested by the police for killing his wife by throwing a venomous cobra snake at her two times.

Sooraj, the man, has been arrested by the police in Kerala, a southern state of India.

This is not the first time that he did something like this.

A couple of months ago, Sooraj tried to kill his wife with the same tactic.

Officers said phone records of Sooraj showed that he was in contact with a number of snake handlers.

Not only that, but he was watching a lot of “how to” snake videos on the internet.

In March this year, he reportedly bought a highly venomous Russell’s viper, which bit Uthra, his 25-year-old wife.

That incident left her in the hospital for over 2 months.

She was still recovering at her parents’ house on May 7, 2020, when Sooraj hot hold of a black cobra, which he bought for Rs. 10,000.

Sooraj, who was staying in the same room as Uthra, waited until she was asleep before taking the snake out form a bottle and threw it at her.

He stayed awake all night to make sure that the snake would not bite him.

In the morning, he went about his normal business at though nothing had happened until his mother-in-law found her daughter unconscious and began screaming again.

Uthra was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

When the room was examined, the family found a cobra, which Sooraj killed and buried in the garden.

The parents of the victim became suspicious when he tried to secure the ownership of his wife’s property days after her death.

The family of Uthra filed a police complaint.

The family said that Sooraj and his relatives had harassed Uthra, whose family was extremely wealthy.

The marriage of the 2 had involved a huge dowry of almost 100 gold coins, a new car, and around Rs. 500,000.

The police said:

Sooraj feared that divorcing Uthra would mean giving back all the dowry. That’s when he decided to kill her. After preliminary investigations, we found that it was a well-planned crime. He told us he had been planning for over five months.

The snake handler that gave Sooraj all the snakes has been arrested by the police.

Sooraj and Uthra had been married for over 2 years.

The couple has a 1-year-old son.
