Rajasthan, India: A 50-year-old man has been arrested by the police for sharing nude images of his 75-year-old mother with their relatives on WhatsApp because he wanted to use those illicit images to blackmail her.

Deepak Tiwari, the 50-year-old man, wanted his mother to handle the ownership papers of their ancestral house to him.

Tiwari was produced before an ACJM (Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate) and was sent to judicial custody.

The dispute over the ancestral house arose after the father of the accused passed away around 20 days ago.

In her police complaint, the 75-year-old woman said that on May 13, 2020, she was performing a religious ceremony for her husband at their house when her son came there and sprayed some substance over her.

The woman, whose identity was not shared with the public, said she started to feel itchy and rushed to the bathroom to take a bath.

As she was taking a bath, her son clicked the photos secretly and sent them to their relatives on the messaging platform.

The woman approached the police the next day on Thursday and lodged a complaint after she was informed about the incident by her relatives, who had received the nude images.

Deepak Tiwari was arrested by the police on Saturday.

The man wanted to mount pressure on his mother to transfer the ownership of the house to him by blackmailing and defaming her.

Authorities said that 50-year-old Tiwari has been charged under the relevant sections of the IPC (Indian Penal Code), which includes outraging a woman’s modesty.

He is also facing charges under the IT act of India.

The nude pictures that he took were not found on his personal phone as he had deleted them.
