Indian Police Officers Use Giant Tongs To Nab People That Are Breaking Lockdown Rules

Police officers in Chandigarh, India, are now using giant tongs to arrest and detain people that are breaking the country’s lockdown rules.

The Chandigarh Police are using tongs that are attached to a 5-foot pole to nab people that are breaking the coronavirus lockdown measures.

Images and a video of the demo show a police officer putting the tong-like contraception around a volunteer.

The tong locks the man in a circular way, which is around the waist.

The huge tongs also allow the police officers to stay away from the people that are breaking the lockdown measures of the country.

Chandigarh, which is the capital of Haryana and Punjab, is currently declared as a containment zone and currently has a strict curfew imposed throughout the city.

Gurdeep Singh, a head constable, said:

We call it a ‘social distancing clamp’ or a ‘lockdown-breaker catcher’. This is especially used in instances where we suspect that someone has the coronavirus and they are not cooperating with us.
