Injured Tiger Dies After Getting Stuck In Rocks

Forest officials have confirmed that the tiger that was trapped between rocks in the Sirna river in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, has died.

The wild cat died due to a spinal injury that it sustained after jumping off a 35 footbridge.

The tiger was found stranded on November 6, 2019, between rocks in the Sirna River near Kunada, which is located 27 kilometers away from Chandrapur.

Authorities tried to rescue the wild cat and even placed a cage close it, but the tiger didn’t go inside it.

The wild cat also sustained teeth injuries after it tried to pull the cage.

Chief Conservator of Forest, Chandrapur circle, SV Ramarao said the tiger was found dead in the river on November 7, 2019.

On November 6, 2019, the tiger was seen killing a wild animal. After killing it, the wild cat was seen resting on the bridge before jumping into the river.

Upon getting the information, forest officials reached the spot and launched a rescue operation, but it was stopped on the evening of November 6, 2019, due to poor light.

Authorities assigned forest officials to keep a watch on the tiger during the night.

On the next day, the tiger showed no movements and it eventually fell into the river.

The dead body of the wild cat was fished out of the water and was sent for an autopsy.

The exact cause of its death will be known after the report of the autopsy will be shared with the public.
