WATCH VIDEO: Minister Ramdas Athawale Explains Why Reservation For SCs And STs Is Must In Indian Cricket Team

While many people are quoting the existing reservation system as an absurd strategy, there are certain politicians who bluntly demand further reservations just in a bid to gain the favors of certain communities. It is believed that the clock has already hit the saturation point, it has been too late and it’s time to take up reforms.

It appears like Maharastra’s Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale is not at all ready for the empowerment, as he was quoted demanding reservations for SCs and STs in Indian National Cricket Team.

The 57-Year-Old faction leader of Republican Party of India was addressing media persons in the city after returning from the special GST session of Parliament in New Delhi.

He, earlier, demanded a probe into India’s defeat by Pakistan in the Champions Trophy, said:

“India had earlier in the tournament defeating the same Pakistani team. But the loss in the final left every Indian wondering if the match was fixed. The BCCI should investigate the matter and clear all doubts.”

Later, the same has added:

“Perhaps reservation for SC, ST in the team would have ensured better performance. What’s the harm in giving 25% reservation to these two categories.”

The minister then took a dig on ongoing Beef ban law, “Cow slaughter ban to respect sentiments of Hindus is fine, but there is need to amend the law. Old and useless bulls and cows are a liability to farmers, who can make some money selling them to those who make a living on their hides. Also, the manslaughter by gaurakshaks should not be allowed to go on,” said Athawale.

When asked about the GST, Athawale thanked Modi for the historical take, then said, “It will bring economic freedom to the have nots and fulfill the dream that Babasaheb Ambedkar saw of bringing equality in society.”

Athawale ended his addressal saying that he is going to meet the respective ministers and Chief Minister to talk about the formation of new state, “I will also meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to appeal to them to help create Vidarbha state.”
