Micromax, the Indian smartphone makers has launched two big-screen smartphones today namely Canvas Mega (E353) and Canvas Mega 4G (Q417) in India. Check out the specs list, price and availability of the two smartphones. The company has launched these two smartphones in an attempt to allure customers who completely focus on budget productivity and entertainment devices. Among the two handsets, the Canvas Mega was initially spotted on the company website last month and later went on sale via a third-party online retailer.
Recently, a new smartphone has been listed online namely Canvas Fire 4G+ which is an updated variant of Canvas Fire 4G smartphone. Micromax has released the duo handsets targeting both the smartphones at young customers and claims that the devices will strengthen their phablet segment.
Specifications of Canvas Mega
The new Micromax Canvas Mega (E353) sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels that also comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The handset is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek (MT6592M) processor at a clock speed of 1.4GHz clubbed with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone measures 154 x 78.7 x 8.9mm. On the storage front, the device includes an inbuilt storage of 8GB which can be further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It is a dual-SIM smartphone that runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
On the Camera front, the device comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash. The device comes with a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera also on board. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports usual connectivity options such as 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth. The device is backed by a 2820mAh battery. The company claims that the smartphone is rated to deliver up to 10 hours of talk time and up to 600 hours of standby time. The device is exclusively available in Black color. The handset packs sensors such as accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.
Specifications of Canvas Mega 4G
The Micromax Canvas Mega 4G (Q417) features a 5.5-inch HD 720 x 1280 pixels IPS display with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The handset is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz which is paired with 3GB of RAM. On the storage front, the smartphone includes an inbuilt storage of 16GB which can be further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The new Canvas Mega 4G is a dual-SIM smartphone that runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.
As the name suggests, the handset supports 4G netwrok and is compatible with Indian LTE bands. On the Camera front, the device comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear with LED flash and also comes with a 5-megapixel front camera similar to the Canvas Mega (E353) smartphone. In terms of connectivity, the handset supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, and A-GPS much like the Canvas Mega. The smartphone is backed by a 2500mAh battery.

Price and Availability
Micromax has launched two new smartphones – Canvas Mega (E353) and Canvas Mega 4G (Q417) for the Indian market. The Canvas Mega is priced at an affordable price range of Rs. 7,999 while the Canvas Mega 4G is priced at a best price of Rs. 10,999. The company in a press statement has confirmed that the Micromax Canvas Mega (E353) will be available in the markets immediately. The company has not yet confirmed when the Micromax Canvas Mega 4G will go on sale.
