Mohali Milkman Arrested For Smuggling Liquor Bottles To Punjab Through Milk Drums

Mohali, Chandigarh: The Mubarikpur Police recovered 365 boxes of liquor from a truck and arrested a milkman from Mohali for smuggling liquor into Punjab through milk drums.

The Lalru Police said they received an Intel about Ramesh Kumar, the milkman, for smuggling liquor bottles in his milk drums.

Kumar, who is a resident of Bair Majra Village, which is near Lalru Town, smuggled liquor from Chandigarh to Punjab by hiding liquor bottles in milk drums.

At the time of his arrest, authorities recovered 85 bottles of liquor in his drums.

Head Constable Mukesh Kumar arrested Kumar near Jalalpur Road.

Officer Kumar said they arrested Ramesh from a checkpoint near Jalalpur Road.

Ramesh later confessed that he was buying locally made liquor from Chandigarh at a lower price and would sell it in Punjab at a higher rate.

Ramesh also confessed that he brought and smuggled liquor bottles into Punjab through milk drums.

Ramesh Kumar is currently facing charges under the Excise Act sections 1, 14, and 61.

Kumar is currently with the Lalru Police Station and was arrested after a complaint was made by Head Constable Mukesh Kumar.
