Mumbai Man Booked For Raping Woman At Coronavirus Care Center In Navi
Mumbai, India: A 25-year-old man was booked by the police on Friday for raping a woman that was confined at a coronavirus care center in Navi.
According to the police, the 25-year-old man was housed at an apartment on the second floor of a 15-story building.
On Thursday, he climbed to the fifth floor of the building, where other people, which includes the women, were placed in quarantine.
A police official of the Navi Mumbai Police said that the man entered the room of the woman and said he was a doctor.
The officer added:
He raped the woman and returned to his room. The woman informed a nurse who came to check on her.
The nurse informed the police and identified the accused.
The woman gave a thorough description of the rapist.
An official case of rape was registered on Friday.
The police are currently waiting for the coronavirus test results of the rapist.
The police official continued:
We have asked for his report on priority. In case the accused tests negative, we will take him into our custody. If he tests positive, we will place policemen outside his apartment for the duration of his quarantine.
