Mumbai, India: A senior woman police officer for the GRP (Government Railway Police) lodged a case against an API (Assistant Police Inspector) after he reportedly sent nude videos and images of him to her.
An FIR (First Information Report) was registered by the Bandra GRP on Tuesday.
The case was later transferred to the DN Nagar police station, which is the police station that handles such cases.
According to the complaint, the woman, whose identity was not shared with the public, got a message on Facebook from API Rahul Kumar Raut, who works with the Economic Offences Wing in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra.
API Kumar reportedly asked for her number, which she did because he was a fellow police officer.
However, after some time, the woman started to get obscene pictures and videos from his number.
He did not cease sending such material even after she warned him.
Following that, she filed a case.
Ravindra Sengaonkar, the commissioner for the GRP, said that the FIR was registered under the IPC sections 354-A (Sexual Harassment), 354-D (Stalking) and relevant sections of IT Act.
An official investigation has also been launched for the incident.
